So where do we teach?

We are so lucky to have use of two really fabulous pools here in the heart of Dorset – both offering excellent opportunities for learning to swim but totally different in every way.

The super pool at The Victorian Barn in Woolland (DT11 0EY) offers a shallow, low chemical environment perfect for little beginners. It is situated in a fabulous log cabin and is 12.5metres long by 6 metres wide heated to 30 degrees by a renewable energy source. It is 3ft 3in at the shallow end gently sloping to 4ft 6in at the deep end.

Once our little swimmers have mastered the basics then our progression pathway leads them to the ‘big pool’ at Milton Abbey School in Milton Abbas, DT11 0BZ – a super 25m x 11m pool situated in the grounds of a Capability Brown designed landscape. This pool offers much more depth and distance for our developing swimmers being 1.4m at the shallow end and 3m at the deep end.  It is heated to 29 degrees by a renewable energy source.

Not forgetting our beginners though – we accommodate absolute beginners even at this big pool from the age of 3 for independent lessons (small group and 1:1) with parent and baby groups from a very early age. This pool is suitable for everyone.

  1. Hi, I have twins 2.5years, we are yet to introduce them to the pool/swimming. We live in Sturminster Newton, please could you advise on suitable classes?

I would also be interested in 1-2 classes if possible, my partner works long erratic hours and as a result we have missed out on swimming so far due to the 1-1 ratio.

We look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards
