#STAconference2016

Leading the way in sector development

I had the pleasure of attending the #STAconference2016 over the weekend to catch up with colleagues from all over the country – and to learn more about all of the fabulous developments coming for not only swimmers with STA swim schools such as Just Add Water, but also for us as professional swimming teachers.  The STA has always had very high standards for its training of teachers and delivery of its courses but these new developments take this to a whole new level.

A new Partnership with CIMSPA (Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity) raises the professional stakes seriously and STA are a significant member of the group leading the way forward for our industry.

For our swimmers we are soon to be introducing a whole new range of exciting certificates and rewards from the BBC Cbeebies programme ‘The Octonauts’. The new swimming awards focus on six of the most popular Octonauts characters, including Captain Barnacles and Kwazii. Each award is centred on the character’s individual personality and teachers will use them to reward children for specific single achievements and milestones.  Much more about this soon.

A new relationship with the Scouting movement is also on the way … keep your eyes open here too.

All in all – a fabulous time to catch up on industry developments which we all take very seriously for the benefit of our lovely swimmers
